Just as many of us experience extreme joy, change and loss, her own experiences have driven her to share the message of possibility and change through yoga.  She models the necessity of authenticity & vulnerability in her teaching.

Join a class, program or retreat & share in an experience of connection, community & empowerment.

Shieri Yamafuji - yoga instructor

Compelled to study these practices after an experience with a foot injury and panic attack, Shieri completed Pilates teacher training at the Kane School of Core Integration, her 200-hour RYT yoga teacher training at Dou Yoga in 2014 and 500-hour RYT training with Guta Hedewig at The Yoga School NY in 2018, training in the Krishnamacharya/Desikachar tradition. Her Restorative/Yoga Nidra teacher training was done at Ishta Yoga.

She also went to the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India to complete the Jivadhara Intensive Course, gaining a deeper understanding of Subtle Anatomy and Pranayama/Breathing Techniques in the Krishnamacharya/Desikachar tradition.

"I teach methods that create sustainable well-being, help people to increase self esteem, and realize their potential."

Erica Ashe - retreat host

Erica and David discovered Hilltop Escape in 2021 after searching for the ideal second home for what seemed like forever. The moment they stepped into the living room, captivated by the grand stone fireplace, soaring ceilings, and light-soaked charm, they knew their search was over.

In a bold move earlier this year, Erica decided to take a step back from academia, seeking a new direction that aligned more closely with her passions and her need to make space for personal growth. Over the past six months, she immersed herself in career redirection while prioritizing mindful and healthy living. With an unwavering dedication to self-improvement, Erica aims to make meaningful contributions and inspire others to lead purposeful lives.

Erica has practiced yoga for 17 years and hosted on Airbnb for 9 years. Combining her attention to detail with her love for yoga and wellness, she hopes that hosting yoga and wellness retreats will meet her need to contribute to the world by promoting holistic well-being, data-driven decision-making, and the cultivation of compassion.

Feel free to ask Erica about her transformative journey at the retreat and learn more about her experiences.
